Termite management for pipe penetrations - pre slab pour
Urban Pest & Termite Solutions recently completed the first stage of Termite management for this project as required for building approvals and inline with National Construction code & Australian Standards 3660.1. For pre slab pour Termite management we get scheduled on site by the Construction project manager the day before slab pour to ensure the concrete slab is prepped with boxing & steel. This ensures that once we have installed our Termite management collars there will be very minimal activity around site and therefore our collars will not be damaged or removed.
As per the Australian Standards we install pipe penetration collars to all pipes & services that will penetrate through the internal areas of the home through the slab. For our collars we use a fantastic Australian Made Product - Termseal. Termseal is a great product for the construction and is designed to withstand the tough environmental conditions often seen in Australia and is able to remain intact throughout the construction process. Australian Standards also require a flanged collar of at least 30mm out from the penetrations, a lot of Termite management companies skip this step and it could end up costing you Thousands…. Make sure you’re using a company that does not cut corners and installs to the Australian Standards.
