We completed the termite management for this bathroom renovation in Dicky Beach, Sunshine Coast, Qld 4551 for a builder renovating this home. This project required the waste pipes to be moved in order to meet the requirements and new configuration of the bathroom renovation. In order to move the pipes the builder and plumber had to cut through the existing concrete slab which causes new entry points for Termites. If the required slab cuts and new pipe penetrations were not adequately treated Termites would be able to gain concealed entry through these areas.
A bathroom renovation is a major hotspot for Termite entry due to naturally being a high moisture area with showers & taps running everyday. If Termite management is not done or not done correctly your new bathroom renovation can quickly become a concealed entry point for Termites. Bathrooms also have a lot of tiled areas, bath tubs, vanities, shower pans Etc. for termites to remain concealed for long periods of time, meaning Termites can remain hidden eating away at your home for months before there are any signs at all.
In order to protect these new entry points caused by the slab cuts and new pipe penetrations we used Termseal Ura-Fen Shield physical barrier along the existing slab edge & wrapped around the pipe penetrations with a collared flange to ensure we adhere to the Australian Standards AS3660.1. We also used Termseal Sealant active to treat the over cuts in the slab caused by the wet saw during the demolition stage.
Termseal is a fantastic Australian made product manufactured to the required specifications in order to be used for Construction Termite management. With Bifenthrin being its active chemical ingredient it protects the treated areas with a combination of repellent & eradication of Termites on contact.
